Area Supervisor

Ross is a Fortune 500 off‑price retailer looking for an Area Supervisor to oversee an assigned store area and lead day‑to‑day operations when serving as Manager on Duty. General Purpose The Area Supervisor is responsible for opening and closing the store, supervising Associates, ensuring a clean and safe environment, and executing all company operational processes. Essential Functions Maintain a safe, secure store environment and promptly report or correct unsafe conditions. Ensure building security, including entrance/exit control, EAS checks, cash office security, and protected carrier pick‑ups. Handle customer safety, accident reporting, and emergency procedures. Test fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after‑hours alarms. Deliver excellent customer service, treating all customers and associates with respect and professionalism. Represent the Ross brand and enforce the company dress code. Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising standards in all areas. Supervise merchandising tasks: receiving, processing, stockroom organization, floor moves, and loss prevention. Support loss‑prevention initiatives, including floor presence, equipment monitoring, and package inspections. Oversee front‑end operations, train associates on registers and shortage‑control, and maintain register equipment. Manage fitting‑room cleanliness and tag compliance. Handle assigned administrative duties: cash pulls, bank deposits, payroll reporting, and store‑manager requests.
