Job Description
Electrophysiology Monitoring Technician

Schedule

This position primarily operates on a dayshift schedule, with some late-night (evening) responsibilities and on-call/call duties as needed. The shifts may be 4x10 or 3x12 hours.

Job Description

The Electrophysiology Monitoring Technician will provide assistance to the Electrophysiologist during EP studies/ablations and cardiac implants. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiac implant or structural heart scrub, although it is not required. Familiarity with Bloom stimulator systems and GE (MacLab & CardioLab) systems is preferred but not essential. Understanding and implementation of EP Pacing monoverses are required. This technician will help in setting up multiple systems, including Carto, Abbott, and Rhythmia, for ablation procedures. Documentation will primarily be done through the Epic system, which is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Electrophysiologist during RF and Cryo ablations for various conditions including A-Fib, Atrial Flutter, and more.
• Assist with device implants, including traditional pacemakers, ICDs, Sub Q ICDs, and Loop devices.
• Communicate effectively with MD and in-room staff to ensure all equipment and supplies are available.
• Facilitate room turnover and ensure timely starts for scheduled procedures.
• Coordinate with Charge Nurse and third-party vendors to manage team availability for procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• RCES or Radiologic Tech license is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a relevant role.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
