Falcon Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Weekend Shift Location: East Alton, IL, USA. Full Time, On Site. Job Overview Whether you are replacing or repairing parts, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical/hydraulic and pneumatic systems or performing inspections on some of the most sophisticated civilian aircraft in the world, no day is the same. What is the same, is that each day will bring new experiences and opportunities for growth. Responsibilities Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems. Removal and installation of panels and components. Troubleshooting and problem‑solving aircraft system/component issues. De‑fueling aircraft. Engine removal/installations. Operating ground support equipment. Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components. Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing. Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling. Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases. Effective and clear communication in English. Any other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management. Education A high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory. Experience AMT I: Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred. 0‑2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar. Technicians have limited to moderate knowledge of general maintenance aspects and require close supervision of general maintenance tasks. AMT II: Airframe or Powerplant license is required. Airframe license is preferred. 2‑4 years of experience working in aviation maintenance. Experience working on corporate aircraft is preferred but not essential. Technicians have considerable knowledge of the job and general maintenance aspects and require general supervision on routine maintenance and more detailed instruction for new or special assignments. AMT III: Airframe license is required; Powerplant license is highly preferred. 4‑6+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance. Experience working on corporate aircraft is highly preferred but not essential. Technicians have full knowledge of general, detailed, and special assignments in aircraft maintenance. AMT IV (Master): Airframe and Powerplant license is required. 6+ years’ experience in aviation maintenance. Must have extensive experience on corporate aircraft platforms. Subject‑matter expert in all areas of the job. Sense Of Responsibility Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments. Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work. Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day. Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties. Maintain customer‑oriented work habits. Physical Requirements Lifts 50 lbs. Routine walking, bending and squatting or sitting. Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands. Climb ladders and stairs, work in small, restricted areas. Standing for long periods of time. Mental Requirements Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines. Troubleshoot or evaluate system operation. Work with others in a professional manner. Supervision Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance. May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity. Working Conditions Work is performed in a hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot. Work outside during aircraft runs will occur. Varied positions in and around the aircraft. Equipment Used Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic. Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment. Jacks, stands, lifts and other support devices. Tugs, power carts and other engine powered equipment. Compensation & Benefit Information The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $30‑$46. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package. Other forms of compensation include a semi‑annual discretionary bonus, 401(k) company match and employer contribution to a Health Savings Account (HSA).
