Contract | Nights | Every other weekend rotation | Holiday coverage based on unit needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a 16-bed Intermediate/Step Down Cardiac Unit with a 1:5 patient ratio, supporting post-operative and cardiac patient populations
• Care for patients with diagnoses including post-op Coronary Bypass Graft, valve surgery, chest pain, dysrhythmia, pre/post pacemaker/AICD placement, pre/post cath lab procedures, and CHF
• Perform and manage heart rhythm interpretation, trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and phlebotomy
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips including Heparin, Primacor, amiodarone, and dobutamine
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR; operate Plum ICU Medical IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Philips monitors
• Float to MedSurg or other Intermediate Care units as needed, with at least one hour advance notice prior to shift

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Kentucky
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with post-operative cardiac surgery patients and cardiac drip management
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR and remote telemetry monitoring
