Title: PAYROLL CLERKLocation: VERNON, CASupervisor: HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGERSUMMARY DESCRIPTION:Pacific American Fish Company (PAFCO) is a fast-paced, empowering and rewarding environment in a highly competitive industry. Opportunities abound for the highly motivated talents, and career satisfaction accompanies the challenge in a vital segment of the food industry.The payroll clerk will oversee the daily administration of payroll activities.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Prepares pay by verifying time records; calculating and producing checks or electronic transfers; calculating and producing quarterly incentive bonuses.Keeps track of pay periods, hourly wages, overtime, sick days and vacation days of employeesDetermines payroll liabilities by entering federal and state income and social security tax information, 401k deductions and direct deposits, wage assignments and garnishments.Fulfills wage garnishment requirements; adjusting payroll records, documenting and transmitting withholdings;Updates records by reviewing and entering changes in exemptions, insurance changes, deductions, paid time not worked, status and pay; calculating vacation earned.Provide customer service support to internal and external customers.CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS:2-4 years’ experience in payroll. Paycom experience preferred.Experience in budget development and management.Payroll experience preferably in a manufacturing and operations environment.Bachelor’s degree in business administration.SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:Be a role model for Integrity, Courage and Conviction.Bilingual in Spanish/ English preferred.Adapts to changing business needs, introduces new ways of thinking and behaving, applies new ideas.
