Job Description

Mac Support Technician for a well-established professional services firm in McLean, Virginia. This is a full-time, on-site role on a small, close-knit, successful IT team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to do more than close help desk tickets. You'll be the go-to Mac expert for a team of smart, accomplished professionals who are often on the go. You'll solve problems face to face, explain fixes clearly, and keep every machine secure, current and well managed behind the scenes.

You don't need to arrive knowing every technology in the environment. We care about what you already know, but just as much, we're looking for someone who is technically curious, learns quickly and enjoys getting under the hood to understand how things work.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

\n

\n
• Troubleshooting and supporting Mac laptops and desktops, in person with users, including executives
\n
• Setting up, deploying, maintaining and retiring Macs through MDM and software deployment tools
\n
• Keeping software updates, patches and backups on track across the fleet
\n
• Diagnosing hardware, software, Wi-Fi and connectivity problems
\n
• Supporting iPhones, iPads and other mobile devices
\n
• Troubleshooting authentication, access and account issues
\n
• Spotting issues early and resolving them before users feel the impact
\n
• Helping colleagues get the most out of their technology
\n
• Documenting configurations, procedures and solutions, and maintaining accurate equipment inventory
\n
• Finding ways to automate or improve repetitive IT tasks
\n

\n

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

\n

\n
• Recent, hands-on experience supporting and administering Macs in a business environment, as a core part of your job
\n
• Experience managing Macs through an MDM platform such as Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle, Workspace ONE or Intune
\n
• Solid hardware troubleshooting skills
\n
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN)
\n
• Experience providing direct technical support to users
\n
• Strong troubleshooting instincts, and the ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate or collaborate
\n

GREAT TO HAVE, BUT NOT REQUIRED

• Apple Business Manager or automated device enrollment
\n
• Package management experience (Munki or similar)
\n
• Scripting or automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell or similar)
\n
• Active Directory, Entra ID, SSO or MFA
\n
• Windows endpoint experience
\n
• Apple, Jamf, CompTIA or related certifications
\n

WHO MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT

\n

Your current title might be IT Support Specialist, IT Administrator, Desktop Support Engineer, Endpoint Administrator or Systems Support Specialist. We care less about your title than the technical foundation behind it.

\n

\n

You may be the person on your team who gets the trickier Mac issues. Maybe you've started working with Jamf, Intune or another MDM platform and want to go deeper. Maybe you've started learning scripting because you don't want to solve the same problem manually twenty times.

\n

This is a Mac-focused support role, not a cybersecurity, network engineering, data center or software development position.

\n

LOCATION & COMPENSATION

\n

Full-time, on-site in McLean, Virginia, Monday through Friday.

\n

Salary: $50,000 to $70,000, depending on experience.

\n

\n
