Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a fulfilling role making a real difference in students’ lives for the upcoming 26/27 school year at an alternative school dedicated to supporting high schoolers with moderate behavioral needs. This classroom environment features a collaborative teaching model, with two teachers working together each day to guide, nurture, and empower students referred from area districts. There’s also an exciting opportunity to start early with ESY programming beginning July 6th if desired.

You’ll focus primarily on English Language Arts, developing and delivering engaging lessons that meet learners where they are. Experience with special education is highly preferred, and certification in either general education or special education is accepted.

Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification in general education or special education (SPED experience preferred)
• Experience supporting students with behavioral or emotional challenges is a plus
• Skilled at adapting instruction for diverse learners within a collaborative team approach
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management abilities
• Commitment to providing a positive, inclusive, and structured educational environment

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver standards-based ELA lessons tailored to individual student needs
• Collaborate daily with a co-teacher to ensure consistency and comprehensive support in the classroom
• Implement strategies and plans that foster academic, behavioral, and personal growth
• Maintain documentation, progress monitoring, and communication with families and stakeholders
• Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
