Work Environment

As a Pediatric Physician Assistant, you will work within a collaborative team setting, ensuring that our young patients receive comprehensive and compassionate care. Our facility boasts state-of-the-art medical technology and resources to support diagnostics and treatment, all while fostering a supportive and welcoming environment for both staff and patients. The clinic operates five days a week, with a scheduled 40-hour work week from 5:00 PM, allowing for a work-life balance while still making a significant impact in the lives of children.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations of pediatric patients and review their medical histories to assess health status.
• Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests such as blood tests and X-rays to inform treatment decisions.
• Diagnose and treat various pediatric health conditions, ranging from acute illnesses to chronic diseases.
• Formulate and implement age-appropriate treatment plans for children with specific needs.
• Prescribe medications, monitor patient response to treatments, and make necessary adjustments to optimize recovery.
• Maintain detailed and organized patient records, managing schedules efficiently to maximize clinic workflow.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, explaining health conditions and treatment plans with clarity and compassion.
• Provide educational materials and guidance on preventive health measures, common pediatric conditions, and lifestyle adjustments to families.
• Monitor the ongoing health and development of pediatric patients to ensure they receive appropriate follow-up care.
• Advocate for healthy lifestyle practices, guiding families on nutrition, exercise, and routine health screenings.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training to maintain expertise in the field of pediatric care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on pediatric patients, ranging from newborns to adolescents. You will be responsible for providing healthcare solutions tailored to children’s unique medical needs, ensuring their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Through preventive care and health education, you will play a significant role in promoting healthy growth and development among your young patients.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant studies.
• A valid Physician Assistant license (PA-C) in the State of Florida.
• A DEA number is required for prescription authority.
• Robust understanding of pediatric health regulations and practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, patients, and families.
• Commitment to ethical practices and high-quality patient care.
• Ability to empathize and connect with children of varying ages and backgrounds.
• Two years of relevant experience as a Physician Assistant in a primary care or pediatric setting is preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization or significant experience in pediatrics, highlighting acute and preventive care.
• Hands-on experience with specific pediatric care techniques, such as vaccinations and developmental assessments.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $140,000 to $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
