Job Opportunity – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN – Virginia

Start Date: October 5, 2026

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Waterfall scheduling with shifts starting at 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 12:00 PM. 9-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shift options available. On-call responsibilities include weekdays from 9:30 PM to 8:00 AM and weekend call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM on a rotating basis.

Highlights:

• 23-bed PACU unit with 19 main beds and 4 atrium beds
• Patient ratios of 2:1 standard, 1:1 for unstable ICU or pediatric patients
• Exposure to diverse surgical cases including neurosurgery, with strong neuro background emphasis
• EMR system: Meditech
• Equipment includes ventilators, Phillips and GE monitors, and Sigma spectrum pumps
• No floating to other units required

Requirements:

• Active RN license in Virginia or ability to obtain
• ACLS and PALS certifications required
• PACU or ICU experience required
• Strong neuro background required
• Ventilator competency required
• Preferred: ICU or PACU experience with drip titration and neurosurgery exposure
• Skills in PCA pump setup and arterial line blood draws
• Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and team-oriented approach
