Assist the STL in implementing daily operational standards (animal care, safety, cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and security) to ensure a consistent, high‑quality neighbor experience. Facilitate training and onboarding programs for new hires and existing staff, ensuring consistency in skills and service delivery across the team. Support in motivating and developing team members through recognition, coaching, mentoring, and reinforcement of company culture and values. Assist with local community partnerships, events, and brand‑building activities to enhance neighbor engagement and loyalty. What We're Looking For: Genuine passion for pets with interest in pet care and nutrition Strong communication and leadership skills with attention to detail 2+ years of retail experience in a leadership role Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment Flexibility to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed Ability to safely operate all store equipment (including forklift) About LH Mercantile: LH Mercantile, LLC is a franchisee of Pet Supplies Plus that currently has 16 locations throughout the Chicago suburbs and Northwest Indiana.
