Full Charge Bookkeeper

Job Description Sidewalk Management is comprised of a small team of dedicated individuals responsible for the administration, management and finances of a well-established, family owned and operated group of businesses in Venice; including a restaurant, a bookstore, and multiple commercial and residential real estate holdings. We are looking for an experienced onsite Full Charge Bookkeeper who, as an integral member of our team, will take full responsibility for every aspect of the bookkeeping and related tasks for several of our companies.The duties will include (but are not limited to) accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll processing, making deposits and light filing, and the production of financial statements and bank reconciliation; as well as providing all necessary information to the external accounting firm for income tax preparation. The successful candidate has a proven track record in the above duties and is a self-starter who will take initiative to identify areas for improvement of processes; as well as create, develop, and implement new systems for superior efficiency and results.Possessing strong written and oral communication skills, they will work with business managers, owners, vendors, and others daily. Beingorganized,detail oriented,andgreat with numbersare musts for this position!We are seeking an exceptional individual who is enthusiastic about “getting things done,” and who will complete both scheduled tasks and special assignments both quickly and proficiently. This is a M-F, 9 am to 5pmonsiteposition at our office in Venice, CA (not remote).The position will report directly to the CEO and indirectly to the Managing Partner. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for full cycle accounting duties Maintain General Ledger and record all entries Prepare financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Process full cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable Process payroll for hourly, salary & tipped employees Manage bank accounts and complete bank reconciliations Calculate and pay various business taxes Maintain various internal spreadsheets and company data Prepare bank deposits Track and reconcile credit card transactions for multiple companies and cardholders Some filing Close the books at year end and complete all year end reporting Other responsibilities as assigned to meet company requirements and achieve company goals QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. Those with extensive relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree completion. Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience Professional oral and written communication skills Ability to multi-task with exceptional organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment Extensive experience with QuickBooks Desktop accounting software, and ability to help implement new procedures and software systems (Mac experience a plus) Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word, and the ability to produce professional-quality reports and documents Extensive experience with payroll software preferred (Paylocity experience a plus) Ability to work with external accountants and other professionals Ability to commute to Venice Beach every day for work Enjoy working both independently and within a small team Dedicated individual with a passion for excelle #J-18808-Ljbffr
