Compliance Specialist

Summary The Compliance Specialist ensures InfuSystem adheres to all federal, state, and local laws. This position maintains and acquires required licensing for the organization to operate, performs internal audits, and serves as the document control administrator for compliance and accreditation documentation. The Compliance Specialist supports the Compliance Supervisor in the areas described below. In This Role, The Ideal Candidate Will Maintain current federal, state, and local business licenses for all business segments, including state Boards of Pharmacy, HME/wholesale licenses, and DRICs, submitting renewals on time to prevent license lapses. Remain vigilant of licensing requirement changes and research requirements for new products or additional locations. Interact professionally with executives to obtain required personal information for renewals or new licenses. Maintain confidentiality of personal data and verify accuracy annually. Organize renewal dates to avoid late fees, fines, or penalties. Report changes (officers, location, ownership, product line) to the State Board of Pharmacy within the required timeframe. Maintain Surety Bonds and coordinate with Finance on renewals or new bonds as required for Medicare and state licensing. Collaborate with DRICs to ensure compliance with state requirements such as renewal of personal licenses and completion of State Board of Pharmacy Self‑Assessments. Maintain physician license integrity, ensuring licenses are in good standing with state boards, OIG, and SAM exclusion lists, confirm PECOS enrollment, identify discrepancies, and communicate details promptly. Serve as document control administrator for all compliance documentation—including CHAP policies, HIPAA, Compliance, IT/Security, Business Continuity policies, supporting work instructions, forms, and records; maintain review schedules and notify owners of upcoming annual reviews. Assist the Compliance Supervisor with patient complaints: Respond to patient complaints. Follow up with internal parties and conduct investigations as needed. Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with HIPAA, compliance programs, environmental and safety policies, and CHAP accreditation standards; conduct opening and closing meetings with leaders/process owners, prepare and present final audit reports, document findings in QA software, and follow up on audit findings to ensure completion. May assist in other audits as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities This role has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications Associate’s degree from a college or technical school; 2–4 years of experience in a related regulatory position, with a background in healthcare required. Experience in healthcare accreditation preferred. Influence – ability to influence multiple stakeholders at varying levels to remain compliant. Technical Skills – electronically organize information, maintain files, and continuously build knowledge of InfuSystem requirements. Teamwork – contributes to a positive team spirit. Strategic Thinking – follows management strategy to achieve organizational goals while maintaining compliance and adapts to changing conditions. Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office.
