Title: Business Consultant VP Area: Provost - UMW Department: College of Business Campus Location: Main Campus Advertised Range: $51,714 (A final salary offer will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, and is not is not negotiable beyond what is advertised.) Job Summary/Basic Functions TheBusiness Consultant will provide confidential consulting and research to SBDC clients in either virtual or in-person meetings and assist the SBDC Director in developing and managing outreach services for Planning Districts 16, 17, and 18. Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest Agreements are required for this position. This is a restricted position, continued employment is contingent on the continued availability of funds. Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications Strong written and interpersonal communication skills. Understands the application of financial statements, ratio analysis, and financial forecasting as management tools. Ability to find and apply relevant data and information and interpret management use. Familiar with pre- and early venture company formation methods. Self-motivated and works well with minimal supervision. Comfortable speaking before groups of people. Ability to work well with others, employ diplomacy and tact, and pursue clarity through appropriate channels. Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Required Experience: Prior experience teaching, training or routine public presentations. Management or Business Ownership Experience which can be determined by types of roles or verifiable accomplishments. Required Education: N/A Required Licensure: Must possess a valid Driver’s License to operate a University/state owned or leased vehicle. Additional Considerations: KSAs: Understands the application of organizational structures, legal liability, and marketing principles. Experience: Prior business ownership. Experienced with client information management systems. Prior experience in consulting or advising. Education: Completion of a degree from an accredited college/university in business administration or related field.
