Operational Excellence (OPEX) Coordinator

Randstad is seeking an Operational Excellence (OPEX) Coordinator for our global power management client.

Join a dynamic manufacturing environment in Beltsville, MD, where you will gain hands-on exposure to Lean principles, shop floor productivity, and cross-functional team collaboration. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting site-wide continuous improvement initiatives and helping cultivate a strong culture of ongoing operational excellence.

• Position Type: 1-Year Contract
• Location: Beltsville, MD 20705
• Pay Rate: $38.00-$40.00 per hour

Qualifications Must-haves:

• Currently pursuing or completed a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• strong baseline knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel.
• Solid analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Work authorization in the United States without current or future company sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves:

• Prior Industrial Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (high-volume, discrete manufacturing, consumer products, or automotive).
• Experience with Six Sigma tools, statistical analysis, or Power BI.
• Knowledge of time studies, work measurement, line balancing, and capacity analysis.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or facility layout software.

Responsibilities

• Drive Continuous Improvement: Partner closely with Continuous Improvement (CI), Operations, and Quality teams to follow up on action items from kaizen events.
• Enhance Shop Floor Productivity: Help implement Lean Manufacturing tools and basic problem-solving techniques to improve manufacturing processes.
• Analyze Performance Data: Collect inspection and operational data to generate statistical process charts and identify trend improvements.
• Support Process Innovation: Learn new manufacturing technologies and assist in rolling out seamless process changes.
• Reinforce Best Practices: Support site training initiatives to sustain long-term continuous improvement standard operating procedures.
