Collections Representative

To support effective account resolution, the contract-to-hire Collections Representative will engage with individuals who have outstanding education-related balances, guiding them toward manageable repayment solutions while working in a call center environment. Key responsibilities Manage outbound and inbound outreach to individuals with past due balances, focusing on securing payments or establishing repayment plans Deliver consistent results in a call-driven environment, maintaining a steady pace of communication while meeting performance expectations Maintain organized and accurate account records using Excel, including updates to payment tracking and automatic payment details Required qualifications Previous experience in collections, preferably in third-party or financial account recovery environments Ability to succeed in a metrics-driven setting that emphasizes productivity and accountability Comfortable working remotely with strong time management and self-direction Intermediate Excel skills, including managing data without disrupting formulas or structure Effective communication skills to handle sensitive financial discussions and maintain consistent follow-up
