Salary$110000 - $120000LocationNew York, NY, USAContractPermanentTypeRemoteIndustryUnderwriting & ClaimsContactAlex View email address on click.appcast.io CRE Loan Underwriter | Insurance-Backed Balance Sheet Lender | RemoteA growing insurance-backed balance sheet lender building out its direct CRE lending platform is looking for a junior to mid-level underwriter to join the team and support a senior loan originator from deal intake through to closing.This is a remote role with a clear path to grow as the platform scales.What you will be doingUnderwriting commercial real estate loans across all major asset classes including multifamily, office, retail, mixed use, and industrial. Building and maintaining Excel financial models, cash flow projections, and sensitivity analyses. Writing deal memos and credit packages for internal approval. Managing the full loan lifecycle from initial underwriting through legal documentation and closing coordination. Preparing and maintaining legal checklists and working directly with external counsel. Liaising with borrowers, brokers, appraisers, and third party service providers throughout the deal process.What we are looking for3 to 5 years of commercial real estate underwriting experience. Background in CMBS underwriting at a bank, rating agency, or outsourced underwriting firm strongly preferred. Strong Excel modelling skills are non-negotiable. Experience writing deal memos and credit submissions. Familiarity with the full loan lifecycle from application through closing.
