Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Fellowship training in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery (required)
• Board certified in Cardiovascular Surgery (Cardiac/Cardiothoracic) (required)
• Active South Carolina medical license (required) — Greenville, SC locum requirement
• Active ACLS certification (required)
• Clean background and ability to provide a self-query NPDB report (required)
• Minimum 1 year of post-fellowship clinical experience as a practicing cardiovascular/cardiac surgeon
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR documentation preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-based cardiovascular surgical care including pre-op and post-op rounding and intraoperative responsibilities
• Perform cardiovascular procedures such as aneurysm repair, coronary artery bypass graft (CABG), and heart valve repair/replacement
• Provide 24-hour call coverage during scheduled shifts and respond to emergent cardiac surgical needs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiology, anesthesia, ICU, OR staff) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document all patient care accurately and promptly in the EPIC EMR system
• Participate in handoffs, perioperative planning, and quality improvement initiatives as needed
