About the Position

A hospital-based cardiovascular surgery program in Greenville, SC is seeking a Board-Certified Locums Cardiovascular Surgery Physician for holiday weekend call coverage. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced cardiothoracic surgeon comfortable managing complex cardiovascular surgical cases, hospital rounding, and emergent surgical interventions as needed.

The provider will work within a collaborative surgical environment supporting inpatient cardiovascular surgery services.

Position Details

• Shift Type: 24-Hour Call Coverage

• Coverage Dates: Friday, July 3rd at 5:00 PM through Monday, July 6th at 7:00 AM

• Weekend Coverage: Required

• On-Call Requirements: Yes

• Practice Setting: Hospital rounding and surgical coverage as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide cardiovascular surgery call coverage during the assigned weekend

• Perform hospital rounding and inpatient cardiovascular surgical management

• Evaluate and manage acute cardiovascular surgical conditions

• Perform emergent and urgent surgical procedures as clinically indicated

• Collaborate with hospital staff, surgical teams, anesthesiology, and critical care providers

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the EMR system

Required Procedures & Experience

• Candidates must be experienced and comfortable performing:
• Aneurysm repair

• Coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG)

• Heart valve replacement procedures

• Additional cardiothoracic surgical procedures as needed

Qualifications

• MD or DO required

• Fellowship training in Cardiovascular Surgery required

• Board Certified in Cardiovascular Surgery required

• Active South Carolina medical license required
  • Providers needing licensure will not be considered

• Current ACLS certification required
