Central Sterile Processing Supervisor

Description Supervises, plans and organizes activities of Central Sterile Processing department personnel to ensure completion of sterilization and processing of equipment, including providing general direction to other area staff, assigning and coordinating specific work responsibilities under the direction of the Manager, Sterile Processing. Full-Time - Days Day Shift Location Trinity Health Livonia Hospital | Livonia, MI Job Title Sterile Processing Supervisor Key Responsibilities Supervise, schedule, and coordinate daily activities of Sterile Processing staff to ensure effective workflow and adequate staffing coverage. Oversee instrument processing, sterilization systems, case cart preparation, and supply management to support surgical procedures. Monitor sterilization records, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with department, regulatory, and accreditation standards. Provide leadership in staff training, performance management, coaching, and professional development. Collaborate with Operating Room leadership and surgical teams to resolve instrumentation and case cart issues and ensure operational readiness. Assist with budget planning, inventory management, cost containment initiatives, and equipment evaluations. Communicate policies, procedures, and best practices while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Serve as a resource and liaison for Sterile Processing operations to support 24/7 departmental needs. Qualifications Current Sterile Processing certification required. Previous Sterile Processing experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities, preferred. Strong knowledge of sterilization processes, surgical instrumentation, infection prevention standards, and supply chain operations. Excellent communication, organizational, and team leadership skills. Commitment to ongoing professional education and certification requirements.
