RN - CVICU

This is a travel position for a CICU/CVICU RN at the University of Maryland Medical Center - Downtown MSP. The contract length is 16 weeks, starting on 08/03/2026. The shifts are 3x12 rotating night/day (19:00-07:30 / 07:00-19:30). Required licenses and certifications include RN MD state license, BLS, ACLS, and CPI. NIHSS and CCRN are preferred. The patient age group is adults/geriatrics, with an average daily census of 10 in 15 rooms/beds. The ratio is 1:1, up to 3 with stable, lower acuity patients. Common diagnoses include cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, MI, PH, advanced therapy workups (LVAD, heart transplants), mechanical support devices (including IABP, Impella), and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Special procedures include bedside line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, Swan/PA cath insertion, targeted temperature management, and CRRT. Special equipment includes Impella, VAD, IABP, CRRT, Vent, Cooling Device, and CCO Monitor. Scrub color is navy blue. Weekends are every other weekend required, and holidays are required as they fall, as scheduled. Floating is required within the specialty, lower acuity's as needed, occasionally to ICU and lower acuity's as needed.
