A confidential Texas-based business law firm is seeking a commercial real estate transactional attorney to join its Dallas-area platform, with a primary focus on sophisticated commercial leasing. This is a strong fit for an associate who enjoys drafting and negotiating high-quality leases, working directly with business clients, and building a long-term practice in a collaborative environment.

THE ROLE

Draft, review, and negotiate commercial lease agreements and related documents, including amendments, renewals, consents, estoppels, and SNDAs. Advise clients on key lease provisions and business terms, including operating terms, remedies, default provisions, and assignment and subletting issues. Manage leasing matters from letter of intent or term sheet through execution, coordinating with counterpart counsel and internal stakeholders. Support related commercial real estate transactional needs that arise within leasing matters. Collaborate with attorneys and coordinate discrete workstreams with paralegal support as appropriate.

LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

Location: Dallas area, Texas Schedule: Hybrid with an in‑office expectation of 4 days per week; initial onboarding is expected to be primarily in‑office.

REQUIREMENTS

2+ years of commercial real estate transactional experience, including meaningful commercial leasing work. Active Texas bar admission or eligibility to become admitted in Texas. Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. Strong drafting, issue‑spotting, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage matters with increasing autonomy while working effectively in a team‑oriented environment. Client service mindset and interest in developing long‑term client relationships.

PREFERRED BACKGROUND

4 to 6 years of post‑law school experience handling sophisticated commercial leasing matters. Experience representing both landlords and tenants. Comfort supervising paralegals or independently handling smaller matters and discrete components of larger transactions. For more junior candidates, interest in mentorship and in‑office collaboration initially.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
