Supply Inventory Specialist Surgical ServicesWhite Plains, NY Full TimeMon-Fri, 6:30am-2:30pm Clerical/Administrative Support Surgical SVS - Materials MGMT Day Sign On Bonus: $2,500 Orders and maintains par levels for inventory in the Surgical Services Department.Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.Conducts inventory counts, orders, and restocks items on a daily basisMaintains inventory levels based on current usage and par levels set by the Surgical Services Materials & Business Manager (SSMBM)Works closely with the SSMBM and Nursing to ensure adequate levels of supplies are always available on the shelvesReviews the Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Endoscopy department procedure schedules on a daily basis and ensures product availabilityPlaces requisitions for supply orders through MeditechRestocks shelves on a first in, first out basis and ensures product is kept neat, organized, and easily accessibleWorks with the Purchasing Department to confirm orders and product availabilityProactively checks for product backorders, communicates and provides updates to the SSMBM and NursingServe as specific and dedicated Service Line Liaisons- works closely with the Operating Room Service Line Leaders for service updates, inventory concerns, and product backordersPerform and assist in the Surgical Services annual inventory countAccepts and documents shipments of human donated tissue in accordance with White Plains Hospital, the New York Department of Health, and the Joint Commission standardsMaintains a clean and safe environment for all staff members and patientsAttends mandatory monthly staff meetings and in-services as appropriateCompletes annual department and hospital competency requirements and documents appropriately on White Plains Hospital's Competency/Education RecordAdheres to all WPH policies and procedures including dress code, code of conduct, customer service, attendance and submission of annual occupational health requirementsPerforms all other related duties as assigned.Education & Experience RequirementsHigh School Diploma requiredAssociates or Bachelors Degree preferred2-4 years experience in a health care setting preferredPrevious Materials Management experience preferredBasic or advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel required.Knowledge of Meditech system preferredCore CompetenciesTeamwork & AdaptabilityActs as a Professional Role ModelAssessment SkillsExcellent Communication Skills (both verbal and written)Attention to DetailPlanning & OrganizingSound Problem-Solving, Judgment and Decision-Making SkillsStress TolerancePhysical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work EnvironmentMay be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks.
