Job Summary Provides armed security on assigned Company properties. Performs uniformed security shift work and assists with investigations as directed by management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides armed physical security and at assigned locations. Assists with security training and internal investigations. Monitors safety and security equipment and processes. Assists with providing on-site training for newly assigned security officers. Responsible for filling position vacancies/working flexible shifts due to scheduling conflicts. Responsible for the use, maintenance of, and response to security alarms and other security systems at distribution centers. Monitors and controls vehicular and pedestrian access and traffic at non-retail locations. Complies with state and private security and safety regulations. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Basic knowledge of the warehouse communications system. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Ability to pass post-offer medical evaluation including but not limited to medical background check, vision test, hearing test, physical agility test, etc. for job related tasks. Ability to demonstrate how to safely operate a firearm. Ability to comprehend and interpret information. Ability to prepare reports and business correspondence. Ability to research information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to learn new technology systems, methods and processes. Ability to reason, form concepts and recognize and solve problems. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information. Ability to occasionally travel to off-site and out-of-town locations with possible overnight stays. Ability to work on-call and flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays. May be required to drive in accordance with the BGC Driver policy. Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible. Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor. Education, Experience and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and higher education preferred. Valid state driver’s license required. Minimum of 21 years of age required. Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business in accordance with the BGC Business Driver Policy. Texas Department of Public Safety Level III certification required (must be acquired within six months of hire; training program available for uncertified candidates). (Texas Only) Must be able to pass post-offer general physical and physical agility test for job related tasks. This includes a minimum of 18 push-ups, 16 sit-ups (within 1 minute), elliptical (5 minutes), and 125lbs body drag for 15 yards. Physical Demands Continuously required to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception or the ability to focus. Continuously required to stand or walk. Frequently required to talk and hear. Frequently required to use hands for reaching, touching or handling. Frequently required to use fine finger movements (ex. sorting and typing). Occasionally required to sit for long periods of time. Occasionally required to push, pull, maneuver or lift objects up to 40 lbs. Occasionally required to bend, kneel or squat. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop or crawl. Attendance at work is required. Work Context and Environment Work is generally performed in and around a warehouse setting. Continuously exposed to outside temperatures and weather.
