Responsibilities * Inspect DOT construction work to ensure compliance with standards and project Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with plans and standard specifications * Inspect all material upon arrival to the jobsite to ensure compliance * Review plans to identify potential violations * Ability to maintain field and office records * Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations * Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications * Determine the quality of materials being used throughout testing * Communicate effectively. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction management preferred, could be substituted with NICET Level 3 * Minimum (6) years of experience in construction trades. * Minimum (4) years of experience as a Construction Inspector including inspection of site/civil * OSHA 30 hr. * Proficiency with web-based submittal collaboration systems * Construction scheduling knowledge to support project team * Experience with the Connecticut Department of Transportation is preferred * Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and procedures * Ability to maintain field and office records and perform quantity computations * Experience reading and interpreting plans and specifications * Strong written and oral communication skills * Following certs preferred: ACI Grade 1, AWS certified welding inspector, QCIS, CESSWI, NETTCP Concrete Insepctor, NETTCP HMA Paving Inspector, OHSHA 30 * Our Culture: We believe in the power of collaboration. Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidates' qualifications and location.
