Shipping Clerk

divh2Shipping Clerk/h2pThis is a second shift position (3pm-11:30pm) and they must be able to operate the dockstocker, pallet jack, and order picker./ppThe shipping is primary responsibility shall be to select the product for a customer order. This person shall be responsible for accurately completing all shipping documentation and/or all computer system entries. The shipping clerk will be responsible for performing other warehouse tasks as assigned by the shipping lead, shipping team lead, operations supervisor or the distribution center manager./ppPosition responsibilities include selection of products as specified on the shipping documentation and accurately completing all required documentation. All tasks completed in compliance with all company guidelines procedures. As required, over pack, palletize and stretch wrap products for shipment. Record shipping details (weight, cases shipped, number of pallets, etc.) on the shipping documentation. As required, accurately process the computer transactions associated with the order. Operate material handling equipment in a safe manner, following all training and procedural guidelines. As required, complete the daily fork truck inspection document./ppMinimum qualification, skill and/or competency requirements:/ppEducation required secondary education (high school) required. Education requirements can be obtained through an educational institution or gained through equivalent work experience./ppTechnical knowledge and skills: The shipping clerk shall have a high school diploma (or GED). Previous related work experience preferred. Competent math skills and legible handwriting are a requirement. Previous material handling experience is a plus. This person shall be trained on all functions of the companys primary business system that are applicable to the position of shipping clerk. This person will be trained on the various ISO-9000 procedures that are followed to ship product to customers or to transfer product. This person shall be trained on the proper operation of each piece of equipment prior to unsupervised operation./ppAbilities: While performing this job, an employee is regularly required to stand, walk and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop or kneel, crouch or crawl. This position is frequently required to lift up to 50 lbs and move more than 100 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. While performing this job, the employee is regularly working near moving equipment (stretch wrappers, forklift and conveyors). An employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and wet or humid conditions./ppKey internal and external relationships: Extensive interactions with all departments within the distribution center office and warehouse. Planning and decision-making work direction is given on a task-by-task basis. Direction is given through written or verbal work instruction./p/div
