Leader of Cancer Support Services and Community Outreach - Full Time - Days

Cancer Survivorship Program Manager

Location: Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center Address: 8303 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE Schedule: Monday-Friday - 40 hours per week Provide operational leadership, coordination, and strategic development of the Harper's Hope Cancer Survivorship Program and oncology support services at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center (MECC). Responsible for oversight and growth of survivorship programming, including wellness services, oncology social work resources, behavioral health integration, support groups, nutrition services, and additional patient support services designed to improve quality of life across the cancer continuum. Maintain and expand community partnerships that support cancer prevention, education, early detection, and screening initiatives. Coordinate oncology screening and prevention programs throughout the service region. Support Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation requirements through program development, community outreach, survivorship initiatives, quality metrics, and regulatory compliance activities. Provide operational oversight of designated oncology support service programs.

Essential Functions

• Ensure that operations are managed efficiently while maintaining quality. (20%)
• Assist in establishing and operating within annual area budget.
• Identify supply and equipment utilization problems and ensure appropriate interventions.
• Review of workflow to identify and apply continuous improvement tools for change management.
• Lead all teams with regularly scheduled meetings.
• Attend MECC leadership meetings to represent teams including HBC meeting with focus on regulatory requirements.

Responsible for metrics that contribute to patient experience, including but not limited to Press Ganey monitors important aspects of care. (10%)

• Monitor on an ongoing basis environmental safety issues and appropriate interventions taken as noted through NOTES/variance.
• Ensure completion of appropriate report form for any risk (e.g., variance report, patient concern report, maintenance request, etc.) and follow up appropriately.
• Provide input into the development and revision of policies and procedures.
• Conduct random interviews with patients and staff.

Act as a credible resource to the physicians and staff of MECC. (10%)

• Consult nationally developed evidence-based practice guidelines
• Integrate best available research with clinical/managerial expertise and client values.

Collaborate with internal staff and departments to provide excellent care and experience for patients. (15%)

Provides Operational Oversight of Harper's Hope Cancer Survivorship Program (15%)

• Coordinates and supports survivorship services including physical wellness programs, oncology social work services, behavioral health resources, nutrition services, hereditary cancer risk assessment services, support groups, and specialty survivorship programs.
• Evaluates program utilization, patient satisfaction, outcomes, and opportunities for program growth and enhancement.
• Collaborates with the Methodist Hospital Foundation and community organizations to maximize access to survivorship resources and support services.
• Develops and implements initiatives that enhance the quality of life, well-being, and overall survivorship experience for oncology patients and caregivers.

Supports Commission on Cancer (CoC) Accreditation and Oncology Program Requirements (10%)

• Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to support compliance with Commission on Cancer accreditation standards and cancer program requirements.
• Assists with development, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of survivorship, prevention, screening, outreach, and quality improvement initiatives that support accreditation efforts.
• Maintains documentation, metrics, and program outcomes related to survivorship services, community outreach, and cancer prevention activities.
• Participates in accreditation readiness activities, quality reviews, and ongoing performance improvement processes.

Leads Community Prevention, Education, and Screening Initiatives (20%)

• Coordinates oncology screening, prevention, and health promotion programs throughout the community.
• Develop partnerships with healthcare providers, community organizations, employers, and advocacy groups to improve access to cancer screening and prevention services.
• Evaluates program effectiveness and identifies opportunities to increase participation and community impact.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelors of Science (BS) in business or healthcare field required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Participates in mandatory in-services, and continuing education programs as mandated by policies, and procedures/external agencies and as directed by supervisor.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience with patients throughout the aging continuum required.
• Minimum 1 year of health promotion and program development experience required.
• Experience in working with media and project management g preferred.

License/Certifications

• Skill interpreting, communicating, and presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
• Knowledge of healthcare delivery, and basic financial principles.
