A Room to Heal Volunteer Engagement VISTA

Rural Health Network SCNY (RHN)'s mission is to advance the health and well-being of rural people and communities. The RHN VISTA program, Rural Health Service Corps, will seek to eliminate poverty in the proposed service areas, and expects to benefit program participants, community members, and host organizations. Twelve VISTA members total will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as strategic planning, research, grant writing, training, volunteer management, and coalition building over the course of the next year.

Member Duties : A Room to Heal transforms the lives of children facing serious medical challenges by creating personalized healing spaces that address their medical, physical, and emotional needs while promoting comfort, hope, and emotional well-being. The goal of this project is to build A Room to Heal's long-term capacity to serve more children and families and help create healthier futures for the children it serves. The VISTA will focus on strengthening volunteer management, program management, and impact tracking so the organization can operate more effectively, demonstrate its outcomes more clearly, and expand its reach in a sustainable way.
