This role ensures compliance with applicable laws and Company policies, while maintaining accurate payroll records and addressing employee payroll-related inquiries.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSubmit, review, and accept payrolls under the guidance of the Director of PayrollEstablish and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll recordsManage, review, and audit timekeeping records to ensure compliance with Company standards and applicable lawConduct and assist with routine payroll audits to ensure data accuracy and regulatory complianceCalculate and record payroll deductions, including voluntary and involuntary deductionsValidate employee profile changes including pay increases, department transfers, and position changesUpdate HRIS records with employee changesRespond to employee inquiries using the Company's help desk platformResearch, analyze, and resolve payroll discrepancies by analyzing payroll reports, timesheets, and employee recordsAssist with calculating and processing discretionary and annual calculations of bonus or other forms of compensationCalculate and process final paychecks, quick calculations, and manual checks as requiredGenerate and analyze reports using the HRIS system to support payroll processesAssist with payroll system maintenance and updatesOther duties as assignedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.EducationAssociate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field from a four-year college or university; equivalent payroll experience may be considered in lieu of a degreeExperience• Minimum of two years of multi-state payroll processing experience • Strong knowledge of payroll administration principles and practices • Experience with payroll tax compliance at the federal, state, and local levels • Proven experience processing California payroll and knowledge of state regulations (preferred) • Notary public certification, or willingness to obtain certification within first six (6) months of employment (preferred)Technical Skills• Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency • Proficiency with and/or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and payroll systems • Ability to responsibly use AI-enabled tools to support efficiency, research, and problem-solving while protecting confidential information and reviewing outputs for accuracySoft Skills• Highly organized and detail orientated • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills • Solid judgement and problem-solving skills • Ability to work with all levels of management and staffPhysical Requirements• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing • Sitting at a desk for 6-8 hours a day • Working on a computer for 6-8 hours a day • May be required to work long and unpredictable hours$26 - $34 an hourEmployee BenefitsAt InfraServices, taking care of our people is a top priority.
