Warehouse Lead - Days

Warehouse LeadAs the Logistics Team Lead, you will be primarily responsible for organizing and managing the day-to-day logistical activities for shipping and receiving of the Devens Warehouse facility in Lunenberg, MA. Your role is also responsible for ensuring personnel operate efficiently and safely, maximizing shipping efficiencies while minimizing shipping costs, and coordinating with 3rd Party Logistics Companies to ensure on-time delivery of customer products and high customer satisfaction. This person must also be willing to work, as needed, at the main plant location in Devens, MA.How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:Coordinate daily dispatch to ensure timely and cost-effective shipment methodsIdentify opportunities to maximize cubing out of trailers to increase utilization of assets and increase cost savingsCoordinate material staging, shipments, pick and pack order fulfillment, expired inventory management, and raw and customer owned inventoryMaintain working knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations and general routes to create time efficient shipping schedulesWork collaboratively with Production to assess, manage, and prioritize customer requests to ensure load planning accuracy, mitigate delays, and enable high customer satisfactionEnsure Shipping Clerks and PIT Drivers are safely operating material handling equipment (e.g. forklift) and properly adhere to all safety regulations and proceduresPartner with 3rd Party Logistics Companies to coordinate dock times for customer receipt of inventoryWhat you need to succeed:High School diploma or G.E.D.3 years of experience in Shipping and Receiving in a warehouse environmentGreat written and verbal communication skills with ability to adjust communication style and interact across all levels of the organizationAbility to coach and develop talent to create a highly productive, safety-conscious teamStrong decision-making skills with the ability to adapt and quickly respond to unforeseen changes in the production environmentWell organized with great time management skills to manage the execution of multiple prioritiesWhat we offer:Hourly rate of $33 per hour.
