Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pre-Litigation Attorney with a focus on personal injury matters to manage and resolve bodily-injury claims before formal litigation. The attorney will lead investigations, assess liability and damages, prepare demand letters and coverage analyses, negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurers, and manage all pre-suit motions, discovery, and document preservation. The ideal candidate combines strong legal research and writing skills with practical claims-handling experience and proficiency with modern legal technology to resolve claims efficiently while protecting client interests and minimizing litigation exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume pre-litigation personal injury caseload from intake through resolution, including triage, investigation, and strategy development.
• Conduct thorough factual and legal investigations: obtain and review medical records, police reports, witness statements, and investigate liability and damages.
• Draft and send demand letters, settlement proposals, reservation-of-rights/coverage notices, and other pre-suit correspondence to plaintiffs, defendants, and insurers.
• Perform coverage analysis and coordinate with insurance carriers for claims handling, reserves, and settlement authority.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery (interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission) and manage document review workflows.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar in good standing.
• 3+ years of experience in pre-litigation and personal injury matters, insurance defense, or civil litigation (combination of carrier and defense experience desirable).
• Proven experience drafting demand letters, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements; strong legal research and writing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to handle written discovery, deposition preparation, case management, and document review.
• Experience with insurance claims handling, coverage analysis, and settlement negotiation with carriers and opposing counsel.
