Plant Manager (Underground Mine)

We are looking for a Plant Manager to join an industry-leading organization to lead efforts in a key underground mining operation. The role will focus on developing company-wide strategies related to recruiting, training, and retaining a strong team in an effort to provide top-notch quality to customers while maintaining overall project efficiency. This organization is very stable and takes care of its people.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a large Limestone underground mining and storage operation 2M TPY
• Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement
• Effectively manage staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and development through training
• Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations
• Direct mine and pit planning per company expectations
• Efficient management of all mine employees, production, equipment maintenance
• Overseeing proper implementation of all safety procedures
• Ensure the pit and mine activities are achieved to plan specifications
• Control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting
• Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with area QC department
• Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geological engineering or similar is strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations and or engineering as well as significant experience in aggregate processing procedures and underground/surface mining
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in personnel supervisory role.
• Working knowledge of AggQC and AggFlow is a plus
• Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and an understanding of basic accounting principles
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to develop leadership at the lead person and foreman levels
• Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating and implementing best operating practices, including quality, maintenance, production and safety excellence.
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to rapidly learn different software applications
• Possess strong basic math knowledge
• Basic surveying and mapping skills are required
• Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA safety standards
• Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices
