Assistant Director of Women's Basketball Operations (2600997) Assistant Director of Women's Basketball Operations Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full‑time experience in administrative responsibilities in the sport of basketball or as a college basketball player and/or coach (team scheduling, budget preparation & administration, facility usage, public relations, fundraising, community service, and other daily operations for the program). Preferred Qualifications Additional years (3+) of full‑time experience in administrative responsibilities in the sport of basketball or as a college basketball player and/or coach, and/or previous experience with a Division I Athletic Program. Experience working with Financial Aid and/or Housing. Experience with supervision of student staff, interns, and/or graduate assistants. Understanding of NCAA Compliance Rules. Brief Description of Duties The Assistant Director is responsible for overseeing a variety of administrative tasks associated with the efficient operation of a Division I Women’s basketball program. This position reports directly to the head women’s basketball coach and serves as the primary liaison with athletic department staff. Duties include coordinating team travel, scheduling practices & facilities, official visits & recruiting records, fundraising initiatives, alumni events, ticket requests, housing, financial aid, video needs, operating budgets, equipment purchases & disbursement, camps & clinics, and academic success of student‑athletes. The role requires travel with the team throughout the season and supervision of team managers. Business Operations Manage all functions of operating the WBB budget and ensuring expenditures remain within budget guidelines, coordinating with the business office on purchases and budget requests. Coordinate all aspects of team travel, including processing itineraries, lodging, transportation, and meal advance reconciliation. Schedule and order pre‑game meals for all home contests and liaise with host institutions for practice/shoot‑around times, meeting space, locker rooms, and team meals. Work with equipment room staff on team equipment purchases, orders, and disbursements; maintain and track equipment inventory. Student‑Athlete Skill Instruction / Team and Game Preparation Teach all basic and advanced basketball skills in individual sessions, team practices, and conditioning sessions. Develop and implement practice plans that prepare student‑athletes and assist the head coach in creating comprehensive game plans, evaluating opponents, preparing scouting reports, and scouting video. Collaborate with the Compliance Office to oversee official/unofficial visits, coordinate on‑campus visits, and track recruiting activity. Serve as liaison with the Sr. Associate AD/SWA for housing issues, troubleshooting room assignments, and scheduling inter‑session housing for student‑athletes. Work with the Financial Aid Office to initiate grant‑in‑aid requests for prospective student‑athletes. Scheduling Schedule all practices (home and away) and secure facilities; negotiate court time, provide practice schedules to staff, and set up the court for practices and shoot‑arounds. Collaborate with each sport’s supervisor to complete the competition schedule, including negotiating guarantee games. Academic Success of Student‑Athletes Work closely with Student‑Athlete Development staff to track academic progress; notify professors of missed classes, assist with class scheduling, monitor attendance, supervise study hall, and hold frequent meetings to discuss academic issues. Team Managers Identify, train, and supervise student managers for the Women’s Basketball program and solicit the student body for assistant positions during practices and away contests. Video Management Handle all videotape needs in accordance with NCAA and CAA rules, coordinate tape exchange, splice game film, and prepare player cut‑ups. Special Notes This is a full‑time, FLSA exempt appointment. Minimum salary threshold applies to maintain exemption. Eligible for $4,000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly. Evening and weekend work will be required at times. No sponsorship of work visas.
