This position is full-time on post at Picatinny Arsenal.What will you be doing?This position will be a key member of the Small Caliber or Medium Caliber Munitions teams. Duties include:Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings in person and via Microsoft TeamsCreate weapon designs and engineering drawings, analyze tolerance stack ups, ensure geometric dimensioning and tolerances are suitable for productionCoordinate Technical Data Package (TDP) changes with design engineersUtilize CREO, Windchill and other software to develop and manage the desired TDP changesDevelop structural analysis finite element models using ANSYS and or AbaqusPost process data from instrumented product testing to validate analysis resultsProcessing engineering change proposalsOther duties as assignedWhat skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?This position will require the following skillsets and experience:Must be a US Citizen with a valid driver's licenseMust be able to obtain SECRET clearance and a CAC IDMust be able to pass drug and alcohol testing5 years of professional experienceASME Drawing practices (Y14.3, Y14.100)Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & TolerancesCAD Modeling and component design – CREO, SolidWorks or similarEngineering Analysis - ANSYS, ABAQUS, LMS Virtual Lab or similar (FEA contacting assemblies, bolted connections, non-linear, transient dynamic)Programming environments MATLAB, Simulink, Labview, Excel VBA, PythonData processing, analysis, visualizationElective undergraduate or graduate level coursework in structural analysisUnderstanding of different materials, heat treating, coatingsUnderstanding of the manufacturing processesWelding processes and calloutsQuality Assurance Provision preparations (or alternative approaches to traditional QAP)Travel requirements up to 20%Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook at a minimumExcellent communication skills and writing skillsExcellent at multi-tasking and understanding prioritiesGovernment or contractor experience a plusUTRS is an Equal Opportunity employer.
