Maintenance MechanicThe Maintenance Technician supports a leading beverage manufacturing facility by maintaining, servicing, and repairing plant and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Based in Hendersonville, North Carolina, this role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and supports food safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and service mechanical equipment, machinery, and components used in beverage manufacturing.Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform maintenance and repair tasks.Perform repairs and maintenance on mechanical systems, as well as building systems.Conduct periodic equipment inspections as part of preventive maintenance and evaluate requests for repair.Identify parts needed for replacement, initiate parts orders, and follow up to ensure timely completion of repairs.Monitor the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of equipment to ensure optimal performance and product quality.Ensure all work complies with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and applicable regulatory requirements.Schedule and coordinate installation support and service operations with internal teams and external partners as needed.Complete all tasks in accordance with established safety procedures and actively contribute to a safe work environment.Maintain and update equipment manuals, complete work orders and inspection reports, and accurately document work hours and other required administrative records.Take accountability for food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements related to the role.Promptly notify management of actual or potential food safety issues and participate in resolving them.Adopt, follow, and maintain all SQF (Safe Quality Food) requirements applicable to the position.Collaborate with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within the scope of responsibility.Perform quality-related tasks such as basic QC testing, quality inspection, and supporting quality assurance processes as they relate to equipment performance.Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues using schematics, technical documentation, and diagnostic tools.Support maintenance planning and scheduling by providing accurate feedback on equipment condition and repair timelines.Assist with installation, adjustment, and alignment of equipment such as pumps, gearboxes, valves, and conveyors.Perform other related duties as required and assigned to support continuous plant operations.Essential SkillsAt least one year of Industrial or Manufacturing Technician experience.High school diploma or equivalent.Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance.Knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, gearboxes, valves, and production machinery.Knowledge of pneumaticsElectrical knowledge in the range of 120 VAC to 480 VAC, including basic troubleshooting and repair.Ability to read and interpret schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment.Experience performing preventive maintenance in a production or industrial environment.Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in maintenance and repair.Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced setting.Effective verbal and written communication skills to document work and interact with cross-functional teams.Commitment to safety, including adherence to established safety procedures and use of required PPE.Ability to support quality control, quality inspection, and quality assurance processes related to equipment performance and product quality.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the food or beverage manufacturing industry is a significant advantage.Experience in manufacturing environments such as medical or pharmaceutical production is a plus.Hands-on experience with pumps, gearboxes, valve repairs, and conveyor systems.Experience working with mechanical and pneumatic systems in a maintenance technician capacity.Exposure to electrical systems up to 480 VAC, with flexibility to consider candidates with lower-voltage experience.Experience repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining automated equipment is highly desirable, though extensive hydraulics experience is not required.Familiarity with maintenance management practices, including work order systems and schedule planning.Experience in industrial repair and maintenance management is beneficial.Experience in QC testing, quality inspection, or quality assurance in a production setting is an asset.Comfort working in a GMP-regulated environment and supporting SQF or similar food safety programs.Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift and adapt to changing production needs.Why Work Here?Team members join a stable, long-standing beverage manufacturer that values hard work, care, and small-town roots. The position is available M-Th 4x10's on 2nd shift (approximately 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.) and 3rd shift (approximately 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.), with shift differentials provided. The environment can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter due to production conditions, and team members must be comfortable working in varying temperatures. Safety and food safety are top priorities, and employees must wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toe footwear, hair nets, and beard nets where applicable. Additional coverage may be required depending on the area of the plant. No jewelry is allowed in the facility, including piercings and hanging jewelry, to protect product integrity and safety. Nail polish is permitted, but artificial or press-on nails are not allowed. The work involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, interaction with production equipment, and adherence to structured safety, quality, and regulatory procedures in a highly organized and team-oriented setting.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hendersonville, NC.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
