Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist supports the day-to-day HR operations of a growing biopharmaceutical organization by administering employee lifecycle programs, ensuring compliance with federal and California labor laws, and fostering a positive employee experience. This role is responsible for onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, performance management support, and maintaining accurate employee records. The ideal candidate has experience in a regulated environment and a strong understanding of California employment laws and HR best practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitie
sEmployee Onboardin
- gCoordinate and facilitate new hire onboarding activities, including pre-employment requirements, background checks, drug screenings, and I-9 verification
- .Prepare and issue offer letters, employment agreements, and onboarding documentation
- .Conduct new hire orientation and ensure completion of all required training programs
- .Partner with hiring managers to ensure successful integration of new employees
- .Coordinate system access, equipment requests, and onboarding workflows with IT and Facilities
.Employee Offboardin
- gManage voluntary and involuntary termination processes in compliance with California labor laws
- .Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to support employee retention initiatives
- .Ensure timely processing of final pay requirements, benefits termination, and system access removal
- .Coordinate return of company property and maintain offboarding records
- .Prepare separation documentation and support reduction-in-force activities as needed
.Employee Relation
- sServe as a primary point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and workplace concerns
- .Assist managers with employee performance issues, disciplinary actions, coaching, and conflict resolution
- .Conduct workplace investigations and document findings in accordance with company policies
- .Support initiatives that promote employee engagement, inclusion, and retention

- wMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with a strong emphasis on California labor regulations
- .Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, meal and rest break requirements, paid sick leave, leave of absence regulations, and workplace posting requirements
- .Support administration of FMLA, CFRA, ADA, workers' compensation, and other leave programs
- .Assist with internal audits and HR compliance reviews
- .Maintain employee records in accordance with legal retention requirements
.Benefits & HR Administratio
- nAdminister employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans
- .Support annual open enrollment activities and employee education efforts
- .Maintain HRIS records and ensure data accuracy
- .Generate HR reports and metrics related to turnover, headcount, onboarding, and compliance
- .Process personnel changes including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, and organizational updates
.Talent Acquisition Suppor
- tPartner with recruiters and hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
- .Coordinate interviews and candidate communications
- .Participate in workforce planning and talent management initiatives
- .Support employer branding and employee referral programs
.Training & Developmen
- tCoordinate compliance training and employee development programs
- .Track required training completion and maintain records
- .Support performance management and career development initiatives

Required Qualificatio
- nsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fiel
- d.3–5+ years of Human Resources Generalist experienc
- e.Experience supporting employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding and offboardin
- g.Strong working knowledge of California labor laws and employment regulation
- s.Experience administering leaves of absence, employee relations matters, and workplace investigation
- s.Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suit
