Part-time Faculty Studio Art Instructor

Montgomery College invites applications for a part‑time faculty position teaching a 2‑D Design course in the Fall 2026 semester at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. The role requires a dedicated educator who can motivate and educate students in an engaging manner. Responsibilities Teach courses in fundamentals of 2‑D design. Maintain classroom and follow safety guidelines. Monitor and utilize Blackboard. Keep track of student attendance and grades. Communicate with the Department Chair and staff regarding instructional needs. Qualifications Master’s degree in Studio Art or related fields. Demonstrated commitment to promoting belonging, inclusion, and multicultural competence in an educational environment. Eligible to work in the United States without a sponsor. Access to a personal computer with virus protection that can connect to the internet outside the work location. Reside in Maryland or a state where the college has payroll reciprocity (DC, VA, PA, WV, DE, MA). Must complete a background check and degree verification at the time of hire. Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching experience as an instructor of record at the post‑secondary level. Experience with a wide array of 2‑D practices, including drawing and painting. Familiarity with interdisciplinary and contemporary practices. Knowledge of non‑Western artistic practices. Closing Date: Friday, August 7, 2026.
