Preoperative Registered Nurse (RN) - 13-Week Contract

Schedule

This position offers the flexibility of either five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week. Occasional midnight shifts may be required to support operational demands. Participation in the weekend rotation and on-call schedule is mandatory, including one weekend scheduled shift and one secondary call day per scheduling period.

Job Description

The Preoperative Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive surgical care in a preoperative setting. This role requires active participation in surgical procedures, scrubbing, and knowledge of surgical care, including robotics. The RN will work closely with patients undergoing same-day and overnight stays to ensure their safety and comfort preoperatively.

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative care to patients.
• Participate actively in surgeries, with a focus on scrubbing and robotics knowledge.
• Administer IVs and manage surgical care protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient operations and optimal patient outcomes.
• Respond to surgical needs in the preoperative area and support overall operational demands.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in preoperative care and surgical environments preferred.
• IV skills and knowledge of surgical care protocols are essential.
