Senior Paralegal (Labor Unit)

Senior Paralegal (Labor Unit, Department of Law) This posting has been extended with a new closing date of June 4, 2026. Applicants who have previously applied do not need to submit another application. Responsibilities Research, review, organize, and draft legal pleadings and related documents. Coordinate directly with clients and opponents, drafting settlement memos and agreements in enforcement matters. Assist attorneys in preparing witnesses for hearings, depositions, interviews, and other trial‑related needs. Assist attorneys in presenting evidence before the Office of Administrative Courts as well as state and federal district courts. Serve as a liaison among attorneys, client agencies, pro‑se litigants, witnesses, other Department of Law units, and the courts. Minimum Qualifications At least three years of paralegal experience, including conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and compiling data from references and resources. Or a paralegal certificate from an ABA‑approved program plus one year of paralegal experience, or a traditional JD from an accredited law school. If the JD path is chosen, provide copies of transcripts (unofficial accepted) when applying. Preferred Qualifications Recent work experience supporting multiple attorneys for more than one year. Experience with ProLaw or a similar case‑management system. Experience with Google Workspace. Experience working with matters related to state government and/or labor laws. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting hard deadlines. Required Competencies Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Effective oral and written communication skills with internal and external customers. Strong attention to detail and organization. Ability to research, analyze, and compile data. Time‑management skills, ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines. Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of customers and team members. Salary Salary will be set commensurate with qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Pay will be bi‑weekly.
