Events Manager

Description

Four Points by Sheraton Tampa Airport Westshore, managed by StepStone Hospitality, is seeking an organized, energetic, and hospitality-driven Events Manager to join our team.

The Events Manager is responsible for coordinating and executing meetings, conferences, social events, banquets, and other group functions from the planning stage through successful completion. This position serves as a key liaison between clients and hotel departments to ensure event details are communicated accurately and executed according to guest expectations and hotel standards.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, service-focused, and comfortable managing multiple events and deadlines in a fast-paced hotel environment. Previous hotel, catering, banquet, or event management experience is strongly preferred.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate the planning and execution of meetings, conferences, banquets, social events, and other group functions.
• Serve as the primary event contact for assigned clients following the booking process through event completion.
• Communicate with clients to obtain and confirm event details, timelines, setup requirements, food and beverage selections, audiovisual needs, and other arrangements.
• Prepare, distribute, and maintain accurate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and related event documentation.
• Conduct BEO and event-detail meetings with appropriate hotel departments.
• Ensure event details and changes are communicated accurately and timely to Food & Beverage, Culinary, Banquets, Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Sales, and other departments.
• Conduct client meetings, planning appointments, site visits, and pre-conference meetings as needed.
• Coordinate meeting-room setups, including tables, chairs, linens, audiovisual equipment, signage, and other event requirements.
• Partner with Culinary and Food & Beverage teams regarding menus, guarantees, timing, special requests, and dietary requirements.
• Review event spaces and setups before functions to ensure arrangements meet BEO specifications and client expectations.
• Maintain a visible presence during assigned events and assist with resolving client or operational concerns.
• Monitor event timelines and communicate changes promptly to affected departments.
• Maintain accurate event files, correspondence, guarantees, diagrams, and supporting documentation.
• Assist with banquet checks, billing details, deposits, and event-related financial documentation as required.
• Identify appropriate opportunities to enhance the guest experience and increase event revenue through additional Food & Beverage, meeting-space, audiovisual, and hotel services.
• Build positive client relationships to encourage repeat and referral business.
• Conduct post-event follow-up and address outstanding client needs.
• Participate in Sales, BEO, operations, and other hotel meetings as required.
• Maintain knowledge of hotel guest rooms, meeting spaces, Food & Beverage offerings, services, and amenities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by hotel leadership.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel event planning, catering, banquet, conference services, or hospitality experience strongly preferred .
• Previous experience as an Events Manager, Event Coordinator, Catering Manager, Conference Services Manager, or similar role preferred.
• Experience preparing and managing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) strongly preferred.
• Marriott or branded hotel experience is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of banquet and meeting-room setups, event timelines, and Food & Beverage operations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple events, clients, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
• Professional and confident when communicating with clients and hotel leadership.
• Ability to anticipate client needs and proactively resolve concerns.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn hotel sales, catering, and event-management systems.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays , based on scheduled events and business needs.

Compensation

Salary: $50,000 annually
