Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Special Requests: Can only apply to 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. Previous permanent staff must be gone for 2 years before returning. Previous travelers who completed 1 full year there must be gone for 2 years before returning. Travel teams must be submitted together. Block scheduling may be allowed if included in the contract. If the candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that permanent facility. Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to.

Unit Details: Currently functions at telemetry acuity rather than stepdown. Uses Phillips cardiac monitors, a central monitor station, and Omnicell. Nurses read strips Q 4 hrs and document strip and rhythm review in the chart. Set-rate drips per protocol include Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, Integrilin, and nitro. BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow are managed by RT. No IV team. Hospitalist, RT, and pharmacy are in-house 24/7. Common patient population includes elevated troponin, active chest pain, pre/post cath patients with and without intervention, post-STEMI patients after ICU recovery, NSTEMI, pacers, occasional post-surgical hips with cardiac issues, and oncology overflow. Peritoneal dialysis patients may be assigned; teaching is available.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend for nights is Fri/Sat. Holidays may be required based on unit needs.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
