Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2860 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for travelers. Failure to adhere may result in being sent home and/or terminated if the policy is not followed.

Required Skills/Experience: Basic arrhythmia knowledge and the ability to recognize fatal rhythms are required; telemetry is monitored remotely and permanent staff read strips.

Special Requests: Cannot apply to more than 1 position at a time across the entire WVU system. If the candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from the permanent facility. At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to. Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. Previous permanent employees must be separated from the facility for 2 years. Previous travelers who worked there for 1 full year must be separated from the facility for 2 years. Travel pairs must be submitted together. Block scheduling is allowed if included in the contract; nights are usually blocked.

Unit Details: Ortho/neuro Med-Surg unit caring for joint replacements, spine cases, occ burr holes, seizures, cranies, brain stimulators, hip traction/Bucks traction, and Med-Surg overflow patients. Remote telemetry monitoring. Heparin and Protonix IV drips only; no titratable or cardiac drips. Uses BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow, B. Braun, and Omnicell.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; nights weekend rotation is Fri/Sat/Sun. Rotating holidays; travelers are expected to work holidays as needed based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements: Float to any Med-Surg unit; not expected to float to ED or Behavioral Health.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
