Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery (L&D) in Lamar, Colorado, United States. Travel assignment starting 09/14/2026 for 13 weeks. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to women in labor, delivery, postpartum, and direct newborn care within your scope.
- Assess labor progress, monitor maternal and fetal status, assist with inductions and cesarean deliveries, and document nursing care.
- Prepare the delivery environment, offer emotional and educational support to the patient and family, and coordinate transfers as needed.
- Administer IV medications, adhere to infection control practices, and follow OB department policies.
- Deliver patient and family education on postpartum care, newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with the obstetric team, physicians, and support staff; ensure accurate charting and effective handoffs.

Requirements
- Active Colorado RN license
- Current CPR certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Certification (NRP) and ACLS within one year of employment
- Education: RN degree from an accredited program; Colorado licensure required
- Experience: 4 years obstetrics care preferred
- Ability to work nights, handle high-stress situations, and meet on-call requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks common to obstetric care (standing, walking, lifting)
