Join Our Team as a L&D RN - Nights Job Description: - Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in the lives of families? Join our dynamic team as a Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse! - General Description: - Provide direct patient care to women in labor, during delivery, and postpartum. - Offer essential care to newborns, ensuring a comprehensive maternal health experience. - Responsibilities: - Conduct thorough assessments and monitor the labor process. - Prepare for C-sections and inductions, ensuring proper documentation of nursing care. - Administer care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum; provide vital patient education. - Prepare the delivery room and provide emotional support to patients. - Coordinate transfers as needed and administer IV medications. - Adhere to infection control principles and departmental policies. - Utilize your knowledge and/or interest in obstetrics and related equipment. - Accountability: - Report directly to the New Beginnings Birth Center Manager. - Special Demands: - Engage in long periods of standing and walking, along with heavy lifting. - Be prepared for exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential infectious diseases. - Qualifications: - Education: RN graduate with current Colorado licensure. Current CPR certification required. Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment. - Experience: 4 years of experience in Obstetrics care preferred. - Skills: - Knowledge of or eagerness to learn labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursing essentials. - Understanding of sterile technique and infection control principles. - Proficient in technical aspects of mother/infant care. - Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. - Strong communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse range of people. - Working Environment: - Enjoy a full-time position working 36 hours per week, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. - Flexibility to rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs. - On-call duties are required.
