The RN will provide direct nursing care to women throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum, as well as direct care to newborns. The role includes maternal and newborn assessments, labor monitoring, preparation for C-sections and inductions, medication administration, patient education, and coordination of transfers. The RN will work within the scope of practice while following OB department policies, infection control standards, and safe patient care practices. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum. Provide direct care and monitoring for newborns. Perform maternal and newborn assessments. Monitor the progression of labor and recognize changes in patient condition. Prepare patients and the delivery room for C-sections and inductions. Administer IV medications and other treatments as ordered. Provide patient and family education. Provide emotional support to patients during labor and delivery. Coordinate patient transfers when required. Maintain accurate nursing documentation. Follow sterile technique, infection control, and OB department policies. Maintain knowledge of obstetric equipment and mother/infant care procedures. Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals. Requirements Current Colorado RN license required. Current CPR certification required. Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS required within one year of employment. Minimum 7 years of experience listed in the job details. 4 years of Obstetrics experience is preferred in the job description. Knowledge of or willingness to learn labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. Ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control. Candidate Eligibility Active Colorado RN license required. Minimum 7 years of experience required based on the job details. Obstetrics/Labor & Delivery experience preferred. CPR certification required. Must be available for night shifts, on-call responsibilities, and holiday coverage. Must be willing to rotate shifts or areas based on staffing and census needs.
