Care Career is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Lamar, Colorado. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/14/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Labor & Delivery RN – Job Summary Facility: Prowers Medical Center Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM Schedule: 36 hours/week On-Call: Required Responsibilities Provide direct care to patients during labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care . Monitor labor progress and perform maternal and fetal assessments. Assist with deliveries, inductions, and C-sections . Prepare and maintain the delivery room and OB equipment. Administer IV medications and follow infection-control and sterile-technique procedures. Provide newborn and infant care. Educate and emotionally support patients and families. Complete accurate nursing documentation. Coordinate patient transfers when needed. Work effectively in high-stress OB situations. Requirements Graduate of an accredited RN program . Current Colorado RN license required. Current CPR/BLS certification required. NRP and ACLS required within one year of employment. OB/Labor & Delivery experience preferred ; 4 years preferred. Knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, mother/baby, and newborn care. Strong communication, patient-care, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to stand/walk for long periods and perform heavy lifting.
