Litigation Attorney

Personal Injury Law Firm Our Client is looking to hire a litigation attorney to help advance our work representing plaintiffs in personal injury and medical malpractice cases. The firm is widely regarded as one of the top boutique personal injury firms in the Bay Area, representing plaintiffs in high‑value personal injury and medical malpractice lawsuits. Our team currently consists of three attorneys, two professional paralegals, and an office manager. We are looking to fill the third attorney position and plan to expand the attorney and support staff teams over the next 6–12 months. Job Details The attorney will run cases with the support of professional staff and the mentoring of other attorneys, working alongside them on larger cases. Key responsibilities include: Working cases from intake to trial, including researching standard of care, causation, and damages in personal injury and medical malpractice to determine case fit. Reviewing and analyzing medical treatment records to assess injuries such as traumatic brain injury, paralysis, birth injury, and wrongful death. Assisting in finding appropriate medical and other experts to evaluate potential or existing cases. Conducting non‑medical fact investigations regarding liability in trucking, motor‑vehicle, bike, dangerous condition, and product liability claims. Drafting offensive and defensive discovery, pre‑trial motions, demand letters, and mediation statements. Preparing clients for deposition, taking and defending depositions, and fully participating in mediations and trials. Primarily practicing in California state courts, with some cases venued in federal courts. Qualifications Demonstrated interest in a career as a litigation attorney in personal injury and/or medical malpractice. Strong general litigation experience on either the plaintiff or defense side of personal injury and/or medical malpractice litigation. Or, exceptionally qualified recent law school graduates with strong academic background and solid writing, analytical, and communication skills. Prior trial experience is not required, but is helpful. Ability to speak a second language, especially Spanish, is a plus. Remote Work Remote work is available most days of the week, though the firm encourages presence in the office at least one day a week for meetings and collegial culture. Compensation Compensation will depend on qualifications and experience, ranging from $110,000 for entry level to $250,000 for a highly experienced candidate. The firm offers a bonus program that shares a portion of profits with attorneys and staff based on contribution. Benefits include a $600 monthly contribution toward a firm medical plan, full cost of a dental plan, two weeks of paid vacation, one week of paid sick leave, and paid major holidays.
