SEO Strategist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SEO Strategist based in United States.

The SEO Strategist will play a key role in strengthening organic growth and improving how digital content is discovered across traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered search experiences. You will combine hands-on SEO execution with content optimization, website quality assurance, and AI search visibility initiatives. The role involves managing optimization across large website structures, ensuring content aligns with search intent, and identifying opportunities to improve rankings and discoverability. You will work closely with product marketing, digital marketing, and website teams to translate SEO insights into measurable improvements. This position is ideal for an experienced SEO professional who enjoys both strategic thinking and detailed execution. Your work will help establish scalable SEO and AEO practices while enabling broader marketing teams to focus on long-term growth and innovation.

Accountabilities

• Implement on-page SEO recommendations across website pages, including title tags, meta descriptions, heading structures, image alt text, internal links, and URLs.
• Optimize existing website pages, blog articles, landing pages, solution pages, and other content based on target keywords and search intent.
• Publish and maintain SEO-focused content such as pillar pages, competitor comparison pages, FAQs, and blog content.
• Conduct regular content audits to identify optimization opportunities and ensure website content follows established SEO standards.
• Support Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and AI search initiatives by implementing structured content and maintaining AI visibility assets such as llms.txt.
• Monitor website health and search performance using platforms such as BrightEdge, NPD, Google Search Console, Semrush, and related SEO tools.
• Identify and resolve basic SEO-related website issues, including broken links, missing metadata, image problems, and content inconsistencies.
• Track keyword rankings, organic traffic, page performance, and other relevant SEO metrics, escalating complex technical issues when appropriate.
• Perform recurring SEO quality assurance checks to validate that new and updated content meets SEO, AEO, and AI optimization standards.
• Partner with digital marketing and product marketing teams to develop competitive content, FAQs, messaging, and other assets designed to improve search and click-through performance.
• Support competitor analysis, keyword research, content audits, and broader content optimization initiatives.
• Apply a structured customer journey mapping approach across website experiences to improve discoverability and content relevance.
• Independently manage day-to-day SEO execution, ensuring recommendations are implemented accurately and on schedule.
• Identify opportunities to improve SEO processes, website quality, and AI discoverability while contributing insights to broader organic growth strategies.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SEO strategy and execution, including optimization across large website structures.
• Strong understanding of SEO fundamentals, including keyword research, search intent, on-page optimization, internal linking, and content optimization.
• Experience with SEO and analytics tools such as BrightEdge, NPD, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, or comparable platforms.
• Hands-on experience working with a CMS such as WordPress, Contentful, or a similar content management platform.
• Basic knowledge of HTML and browser developer tools such as Chrome DevTools for content troubleshooting, validation, and quality assurance.
• Familiarity with AI search trends, Answer Engine Optimization, generative AI visibility, and emerging approaches to optimizing content for AI-powered search experiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify SEO opportunities and translate data into practical actions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and optimization projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across marketing, website, and product teams.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of recurring SEO activities while knowing when to escalate complex technical issues.
• Experience working in a collaborative, fast-paced digital marketing environment is preferred.
