Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Neuro Critical Care ICU setting, including assessment and management of stroke, TBI, head injury, and neurosurgery patients
• Float between Neuro Critical Care ICU and Med/Surg ICU units, with possible float to other critical care and inpatient units as needed
• Perform and assist with bedside ICU procedures including line placement and intubation
• Assist with neuro-specific bedside procedures including bolt and drain placements in collaboration with neurosurgery
• Conduct thorough and ongoing neurological assessments using standardized tools and protocols
• Manage EVDs and ICP monitoring in accordance with unit standards and physician orders

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification – AHA or ARC
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med/Surg ICU and/or Neuro ICU with strong neurological assessment skills
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one prior travel nursing assignment
• Experience as a Neuro Interventionalist
• Familiarity with EVDs and intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and adapt well to change
