However, occasional in-person sessions may be conducted at our outpatient office in Islip to meet the specific needs of certain clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify clients’ mental health conditions and establish a foundational understanding of their unique challenges and objectives.

• Provide tailored individual and group therapy sessions employing evidence-based techniques, focusing on various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and relationship difficulties.

• Collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that include measurable goals, interventions, and evaluations to ensure relevance and effectiveness in their therapeutic journey.

• Offer crisis intervention support to clients navigating acute psychological distress, employing de-escalation techniques and rapid assessment procedures.

• Educate clients regarding mental health issues, coping mechanisms, and the plethora of community resources available, fostering empowerment and independence.

• Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation of all client interactions, including assessments, treatment plans, progress evaluations, and follow-up notes, ensuring compliance with professional and legal standards.

• Adhere rigorously to ethical guidelines and legal requirements regarding therapy practices, rigorously protecting patient confidentiality and informed consent throughout the counseling process.

• Demonstrate cultural competence by effectively serving clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that their unique cultural contexts are respected and integrated into their treatment.

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and support staff, to provide comprehensive care and enhance client outcomes.

Qualifications\n
