The Law Office of Alan Doorasamy, Sr., a litigation law firm with a focus on immigration and criminal defense, is seeking a full-time bilingual (English-Spanish) legal assistant. The ideal candidate must be very professional, friendly, well-organized and a determined multi-tasker, with the motivation to learn, help others and drive to achieve high quality work. An individual with an associate’s degree, paralegal certificate, or bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two (2) years of experience is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook is a must. Core responsibilities:

·        Answer incoming phone calls and emails

·        Schedule appointments

·        Complete new-client intakes

·        Enter client information into computer system

·        Update daily calendar for office and court cases

·        Manage case tracking and deadlines

·        Handle payment collections

·        Perform clerical duties: typing, filing, copying, scanning, collating, faxing, using office machines

·        Prepare and assemble documents

·        Communicate and correspond with court personnel and other third parties

·        Demonstrate proficiency in office systems, including Word and Outlook.

·        Handle highly confidential and sensitive information with discretion

·        Adapt easily to changing circumstances

·        Dress appropriately for professional office environment
